Mark is part of our Oxfordshire clinic team working alongside Dr Suzie Anthony and Dr Raman Uberoi. He qualified in Medicine in 1998 after studying at Cambridge University and Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in London. He trained in radiology at St George’s Hospital, London and moved to Oxford in 2009 to take up his post as a Consultant Vascular Interventional Radiologist. He specialises in treatments on arteries and veins and has extensive experience in managing patients with peripheral vascular disease and complex aortic aneurysms.
He has over 40 peer-reviewed papers, notably receiving the Editor’s Gold Medal for best paper in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology as co-author on the paper reporting outcomes from the randomised controlled trial of fibroid embolisation versus myomectomy. He established the regional vascular malformation service in Oxford and is currently pioneering new treatments for patients with vascular bone lesions. He is College Tutor for the Oxford radiology training scheme.
Mark is kept busy at home playing football in the garden with his two sons aged 12 and 6 years old and he is never happier than skiing with the whole family. He is a keen cyclist managing the hill up to the John Radcliffe Hospital in all weathers and tries to get away sailing for a few weekends each year.

Dr Bratby has committed to working at Veincentre Oxford on a Monday. If you book an initial consultation with Dr Bratby in Oxford, all your future appointments will be with Dr Bratby in Oxford. As such, it is important to note that if you opt to go ahead with treatment this will be undertaken with Dr Bratby on a Monday (as will all future follow-up appointments).
Occasionally Dr Bratby may open up a list on another day, especially during our busy periods, however we cannot guarantee appointment dates on any other day than a Monday even if a previous appointment was on a different day. If you are unable to attend one of Dr Bratby's dates and hence wish to switch consultants, you will need to attend and pay for a new consultation with the other consultant prior to any treatment being undertaken. Please take care when choosing which consultant/ date to book.
Please note that due to holidays Dr Bratby may not be available every Monday.
