I HAVE A COUPLE OF SMALL VARICOSE VEINS ON MY FEET, BUT MY MAIN CONCERN IS THAT AS I'VE GOT OLDER THE SKIN ON MY FEET HAS THINNED AND YOU CAN SEE THE NETWORK OF THIN VEINS UNDERNEATH. MY GRANDDAUGHER THOUGHT I HAD SCRIBBLED ON MY FEET WITH A BLUE BIRO. ARE THESE VEINS TREATABLE.
If these are just normal veins which are prominent because you have lost volume of tissue over your feet then we would not normally advise treating them. It is however best to have a duplex ultrasound scan to check that they are not prominent because of valve problems higher up the leg.
