ABPI Test & Colour Duplex Ultrasound Scan
Your consultant will begin with an ABPI test, which measures blood pressure in your arms and legs to check if your ulcer is caused by vein or artery issues. Over 60% of ulcers are vein-related and can be effectively treated at Veincentre. Following this, a detailed colour duplex ultrasound scan will be performed. This scan, along with the ABPI, helps accurately identify the cause of your ulcer. If an arterial issue is found, your consultant will advise on the next steps. With this insight, we’re able to recommend the most effective treatment options, tailored just for you.
