Dr Shaw qualified from King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry, London in 1995. He obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1998 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2002.
After Interventional Radiology fellowship training in Sheffield and Glasgow he was appointed as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist in 2004.
He has been Clinical Lead for Interventional Radiology at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust from 2008-2013 and at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust from 2015-2020.
He has been a co-investigator in several multi-centre national trials. He is a Senior Lecturer at Leeds University Medical School. He has participated in educational meetings in Egypt.
His subspecialist interests include endovascular treatment of aortic pathologies, advanced peripheral vascular disease and venous diseases. He is a member of the acute trauma team in the UKs second busiest major trauma centre.
He is a keen cyclist who has completed several cycling events including London to Paris, Milan to Rome, Geneva to Nice and most recently Lands’ End to John O’Groats.
