Mr Zola Mzimba is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon whose practice is dedicated to venous disease. He qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1990 and undertook training in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and South Africa.
He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and completed specialist surgical training in 2006. He is included on the General Medical Council Specialist Register in General Surgery and holds specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council.
Since 2015, Mr Mzimba has practised exclusively in venous care within both the NHS and independent sector. His work includes the assessment and treatment of primary and recurrent varicose veins, endovenous procedures, ultrasound and venous thrombosis. He uses clinical assessment and duplex ultrasound to identify the cause and extent of venous disease before developing an individual treatment plan.
Mr Mzimba became a Registered Phlebology Sonographer through Cardiovascular Credentialing International in 2019 and was awarded the Diploma in Phlebology by the European College of Phlebology in 2023.
He has served as Clinical Lead for the delivery of varicose vein services in Northern Ireland, contributing to service reconfiguration and waiting-list reduction. He served on the Board of the British Association of Sclerotherapists from 2019 to 2026 and is a Council Member of the Venous Forum at the Royal Society of Medicine.
