Miss Rebecca Winterborn is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon. She holds an NHS Consultant position at North Bristol NHS Trust. She works closely with Mr Neary and Mr Brooks at the Bristol clinic.
After graduating from the University of Bristol in 1998, Rebecca completed an MD thesis in 2008 entitled ‘The Prevention of Recurrent Varicose Veins’. She undertook Higher Surgical Training in the South West Region including a year of Endovascular and Radiology training in Bristol during which she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound, awarded in 2011 with distinction. She has always had an interest in treating varicose veins and has performed both open and Endovascular treatments for over 10 years.
Rebecca’s priority is to provide a very high standard of care within a friendly and stress-free environment and so the Veincentre clinic suits her perfectly.
She is married with 2 children who ensure she maintains her work-life balance. Her passion is music, particularly jazz, and she plays saxophone, flute, and piano. She also loves to maintain her physical fitness and is currently enjoying adult ballet classes!
Miss Winterborn has committed to working at Veincentre Bristol on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you book an initial consultation with Miss Winterborn in Bristol, all your future appointments will be with Miss Winterborn in Bristol. As such, it is important to note that if you opt to go ahead with treatment this will be undertaken with Miss Winterborn on either a Wednesday or Friday (as will all future follow-up appointments).
Occasionally Miss Winterborn may open up a list on another day, especially during our busy periods, however, we cannot guarantee appointment dates on any other day than a Wednesday or Friday even if a previous appointment was on a different day. If you are unable to attend one of Miss Winterborn’s dates and hence wish to switch consultants, you will need to attend and pay for a new consultation with the other consultant prior to any treatment being undertaken. Please take care when choosing which consultant/ date to book.
